STRICTLY’S

first ever deaf contestant Rose Ayling-Ellis waltzed up the leader board last night with the show’s first score of 36 as the stars got dressed up for ‘Movie Week’.

The EastEnders actress, 26, was hailed as ‘absolutely exquisite’ by judge Shirley Ballas for her foxtrot to Rose’s Theme from the film Titanic with partner Giovanni Pernice. Swimmer Adam Peaty was barely recognisable as an alien character from the movie Avatar, along with Katya Jones. They danced a rumba to I See You by Leona Lewis, but the judges gave them just 20 out of 40 points.

Peep Show star Robert Webb opted to appear as Kermit the frog from The Muppet Show, dancing the quickstep to the film’s theme song with professional Dianne Buswell as Miss Piggy to win a total of 25 from the experts.

But Strictly’s first all-male pairing stole the show with a paso doble inspired by the Pirates Of The Caribbean. Bake Off star John Whaite and his partner Johannes Radebe scored an incredible 39 points out of 40 dressed as buccaneers.
