Gaia lays down the rules

WATCHING her daughter Gaia in school plays can’t have been much fun for Oscar-winning actress Dame Emma Thompson – she wasn’t even allowed to applaud, let alone enjoy a crafty snack.

‘I used to give her a list of things that she was not allowed to do because it would embarrass me. Like, don’t clap too loudly, don’t say my name really loudly, don’t stand up, don’t eat crisps at the beginning or chew really loudly,’ says Gaia, 21, whose dad Greg Wise, above with Gaia and Emma, is currently competing on Strictly. There’s no way extrovert Emma stuck to that set of rules.
