Not a merry Christmas, yet

I have some sympathy with Alexandra Shulman, who moaned that Christmas has come around so fast this year, with the major hype already starting.

As she said, Covid still lurking in the wings makes for a more fearful build-up. Yes, businesses desperately need our trade, but it does seem rather out of sync with the prevalent mood – and for many the season will be full of sadness as they remember lost loved ones.
