Ruth Davidson

A RARE 250-year-old Scottish £1 note from an infamous bank that existed for only four years is expected to fetch up to £1,800 at auction this week. The banknote was issued by Douglas, Heron & Company – known as the Ayr Bank – on September 28, 1772. It is believed to be one of fewer than ten of its kind in existence and will be sold by Dix Noonan Webb in London on Wednesday.
