NICOLA THE COVER GIRL... FROM 2015!

TIME seems to have stood still for Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP.

The party has chosen for the front cover of this year’s conference agenda a photograph of the First Minister that dates back to 2015.

The glamorous image – a soft-focus portrait of Ms Sturgeon in a cream-coloured round-neck jersey – was shot to accompany an article in fashion bible Vogue.

And just as the picture has been recycled, critics have also claimed that much of the party’s rhetoric – particularly about breaking up Britain – also had more than a whiff of familiarity.

Rivals also suggested that not much has changed at this year’s SNP conference either, as the Nationalists continue to trot out the same tired rhetoric over independence.

Last night, Scottish Conservative constitution spokesman Donald Cameron said: ‘For 14 years, it has been nothing but failure after failure from the SNP. Rather than obsess about independence during a pandemic, it’s about time they focused on the day job for once by addressing their numerous policy failures.

‘The public want the SNP to focus on fixing an NHS in crisis, a declining education system and Scotland’s drugs death shame.’

He added: ‘Instead of focusing on Scotland’s recovery, the SNP are hellbent on pushing for a divisive independence referendum.’
