Ecstatic McGlynn hails heroic ten-man Rovers

TEN-MAN Raith Rovers eased into the fourth round of the Scottish Cup after beating Falkirk.

Reghan Tumilty, who later apologised to manager John McGlynn, was sent off after two bookings in the opening 20 minutes. However, Rovers shrugged off their numerical disadvantage — and the concession of an equaliser through Callumn Morrison after Ross Matthews had given Raith a lead — to book their place in the next round with a dramatic winner from Ethan Ross five minutes from time.

‘It’s not easy playing for so long with 10 men,’ admitted McGlynn ‘But we gave ourselves something to hold on to with the goal not long after and we defended really well.

‘It’s great to be in the draw for the next round.’
