ROYAL COUPLE... IN EASTENDERS

WHEN Danny Dyer discovered he had royal blood, it was surely only a matter of time before he had the relations round to his gaff.

Now, in a plot twist to rival anything seen at the Queen Vic over the years, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will star as themselves in a special EastEnders episode to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The scenes were filmed in March when Charles and Camilla visited the set of the long-running BBC soap in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

In the episode the Royals are seen arriving at a Jubilee party where Dyer’s character Mick Carter and his partner Linda introduce them to the residents of Albert Square.

Kellie Bright, who plays Linda, said: ‘I did think what amazing sports that they are willing to do it.’

Charles and Camilla, left with Dyer and Bright, spent time talking to the cast, including Rose Ayling-Ellis, the deaf actress who won Strictly Come Dancing last year. The Duchess told her: ‘I don’t know how you did all those dances.’

Cockney actor Mr Dyer, who found out he was a direct descendant of Edward III during a 2016 appearance on Who Do You Think They Are?, later admitted that he did not speak to Charles about their ancestry. ‘It just don’t go down well, does it? he said.
