RESTING IN PEACE WITH FATHER, MOTHER AND PHILIP
THIS is the first picture of the inscribed stone slab laid at the Queen’s final resting place in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The photograph, released by Buckingham Palace, shows the Queen’s name inscribed alongside those of her mother, father and husband on the ledger stone in the King George VI Memorial Chapel. The stone is made of hand-carved Belgian black marble, with brass letter inlays and a metal Garter Star, and replaced the previous slab that carried just her parents’ names. All four Royals were members of the Order of the Garter, which has the chapel as its spiritual home.
