WEATHER WATCH
John Kettley
Last Friday saw localised downpours streaming north from the English Channel across Sussex and Kent and there are further showers forecast for the weekend.
The coming weeks will bring a return of more widespread rainbands and strong winds from the Atlantic.
These will help to bring welcome rain in the medium term but also a marked drop in temperatures.
Reaching the final week of September, most areas are still at least 1C higher than normal but this will soon change as cool and often strong winds sweep eastwards. As we move deeper into autumn, we are now experiencing a marked change to our weather.
