Pressure’s off Lorraine

TV PRESENTER Lorraine Kelly tells me she didn’t feel insulted when a male boss said to her: ‘You don’t make my trousers twitch.’ Explaining her reaction to the comment, Lorraine, 62, right, told me at a Women In Journalism event: ‘I was relieved. I wasn’t hired for that.’

The crass remark reassured her that her career did not depend on how she looked. ‘The pressure was off. It meant I didn’t have to worry about having procedures later to keep looking young.’
