British actress Cynthia Erivo (above) plays Harriet Tubman in this long overdue biopic of the African American hero. Born into slavery, Araminta Ross flees her owner and is chased for a hundred miles before arriving in Philadelphia. Then, adopting a new name, she goes on to be a pioneering activist and freedom fighter. ★★★★★
