Robbie Williams: Reel Stories

BBC2, 8.45pm

In 1995, the singer-songwriter (right) broke a million teenagers’ hearts by quitting Take That. Many thought he’d fall by the wayside, but he defied expectations by launching a hugely successful solo career.

Williams released his new album, XXV, recently, and to mark it, BBC2 is devoting most of its Saturday evening schedule to shows featuring interviews with and performances by the man himself, including a revealing chat with Dermot O’Leary in which he charts his rise to fame.

After a 45-minute break for the first in a new run of Later... With Jools Holland (see below), we pick up with Williams again in RobbieWilliams:OneNightAtThe Palladium (10.15pm), which includes songs from his Swings Both Ways album and a duet with Miss Piggy.

Finally, at 11.15pm, there’s a Williams’themed episode of TOTP2. ★★★★★
