This lot would spice up Glasto!

With regard to your article about the Spice Girls (above) possibly headlining next year’s Glastonbury Festival: whether you like the band or not, such a show would be good fun and bring back memories of a much happier time.

Theresa Roberts,

Why do the Spice Girls get so many opportunities? They can’t sing, don’t play any instruments and definitely do not write their own songs. There are so many other much more worthy artists around who don’t get a look-in because of bands like the Spice Girls. I can’t stand them.

A. Young, Wigan

I’m not a big fan, but I can see a Spice Girls set at Glastonbury working. People today seem to just love to criticise and have lost all sense of fun.

Not all music has to be deep and meaningful. It can just be about reminiscing about your youth and having a laugh. After all, the Spice Girls did rule music for a short period and are the biggest-selling girl group ever. So why not?

Mike Wood, Manchester

Does anyone remember when Glastonbury was full of bands and musicians? No disrespect to the Spice Girls for what they’ve achieved around the world, but music festivals are becoming children’s parties.

B. Roberts,
