Loneliness can hit the young, too

I was very moved by Dame Esther Rantzen’s words last week about loneliness.

As founder of The Silver Line working with Age UK, she knows only too well how lonely people can be. Sadly, loneliness is widespread in society today. Lockdowns must have made it so much harder for these people.

I experienced loneliness in my 20s when I moved to London. It’s not just elderly people who can be lonely.

I understand loneliness, but it is something you just have to learn to live with and tolerate as best you can. My dear husband has gone and now the brightest thing for me is knowing that my turn is now nearer in that heavenly queue, and soon I will be reunited with those I loved.
