Royal gun for hire: Mike Tindall charges £20,000 to join him on a day’s shooting

FORMER England rugby star Mike Tindall is available to hire for clay-shooting day packages at a cost of £20,000, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

Tindall, who is married to King Charles’s niece Zara, is inviting wealthy fans to a farm in the Cotswolds for a personal experience. Up to 16 guests can join Tindall for the outing, being sold by corporate promotional companies.

The cost would be the same if just one person was to attend. As part of the deal, potential clients can pick a specific date, rather than choose from a selection of slots, to ensure it is tailored fully to their needs. Last year, Tindall, 44, was a contestant on I’m A Celebrity, making him the first member of the Royal Family to appear on the ITV show The exact location of the farm is unknown, but sources have speculated that it could either be at Gatcombe Park, Tindall’s home with Zara and their three children – where Princess Anne also lives – or nearby.

One source said: ‘This would be a special, once-in-a-lifetime way to spend the day. Mike is an expert in clay shooting and there has been a lot of interest and chatter within the corporate world. He’s great company and his stories are so enthralling.

‘He is funny and personable too, as was seen when he appeared on I’m A Celebrity.’

While Tindall is part of the Royal Family, he is not a working member and is therefore allowed to earn his own money.

A spokeswoman for Tindall declined to comment. However, sources close to him say that he participates in many charity auctions where they pick up some of the money and he gets what is left.

They also reveal that Tindall and his co-stars from his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, Alex Payne and James Haskell, are planning clayshooting days this year where, after costs, the money will be used to fund the podcast. One planned in Northwood, North-West London, in June costs £660 per person.

Tindall, who married Zara in 2011, has had a number of lucrative advertising jobs. In October it emerged that he had two endorsement deals, with Domino’s Pizza and streaming giant Amazon Prime. It was reported that he earned £600,000 from the contracts.

For Amazon he shared a fiveminute advert with his 500,000plus Instagram followers.

Days earlier, he appeared in a clip for Domino’s Pizza in which he starred alongside Haskell.

The sportsman is seen arriving at his friend’s house in a helicopter carrying pizza boxes. He also jokes: ‘I have friends in high places.’

Tindall has admitted that he ‘always worried about money’.

He and Zara, 41, each have a long list of brand ambassadorships with names such as Rolex, Land Rover and clothing brand Musto, which are estimated to bring in more than £1million a year, but many are tied to sport.

A source said: ‘Mike and Zara are great, hard-working people and they are entitled to earn a living.’
