Thanks for making naps normal, Susanna

I was interested to read in last week’s

You magazine that Susanna Reid, pictured left, relies on naps to get her through the day due to her gruelling early morning schedule. I am exactly the same – I couldn’t cope without mine. I think I sleep more during my naps than in the evening.

Thank you for normalising napping, Susanna.

Are we expected to feel sorry for Susanna? Many people work very unsociable hours for a lot less money.

Try getting out of bed at 2.15am every day for a shift down the pit. The only bonus was that you didn’t have to open your eyes as it was dark down there.

Don’t whinge, Susanna – I bet you get more money than a miner does.

M. Sanders, Newcastle

Susanna says she has around eight cups of coffee every day.

I also find that absolutely blasting the caffeine first thing in the morning, and then having no more for the rest of the day, helps give me a deeper sleep.

Perhaps it revs up and exhausts my nervous system. People say I look younger than my age, so I guess it’s not doing any harm.
