WEATHER WATCH
John Kettley
Monday will officially see the first day of spring when the sun rises exactly in the east and sets exactly in the west.
This is when we can look forward to warmer times ahead – though the first half of March has been much colder than normal.
Milder weather has brought some improvement over the weekend but rainbands continue to threaten from the Atlantic in the week ahead. For the time being we can put the chilly start to spring behind us, but be wary of some wetter spells. It is far too early to believe that wintry weather will not return – realistically it is still likely to turn frosty into early April.
Easter is still three weeks away and my mantra remains ‘it is more likely to snow at Easter than Christmas’.
