Cup draw is bad news for Ibrox board

THAT Scottish Cup semi-final draw with Celtic really isn’t what the Rangers board needed right now.

Land Falkirk or Inverness and they would have had a cup final to fill out the season with. Maybe just enough to prevent the growing dissent among punters, as witnessed at Fir Park yesterday, from becoming impossible to ignore no matter how tone-deaf you may be.

Now, the chances are their campaign ends on April 30 — with a month’s worth of league games still to go. Gosh, don’t they have the potential to be interesting?

In this blood-spattered week of seeing bad leaders drummed out of other crumbling institutions, how long can it be until MD Stewart Robertson and sporting director Ross Wilson, in the best political traditions, are persuaded it’s best to step back and spend more time with their families.
