Helen finds a work-life balance with new BBC role
By Jennifer Ruby Showbusiness News Editor
SHE recently stepped down from her presenting role on BBC Radio 5 Live to spend more time with her children.
And just three months later, Helen Skelton has landed a more family-friendly role as a permanent host of BBC One’s Morning Live, which will overlap with This Morning for the first time as a direct rival.
Ms Skelton, 40, who has three children with ex-husband Richie Myler, will be one of the main hosts of the mid-morning magazine show alongside Michelle Ackerley and Gethin Jones.
She will present from Monday to Wednesday each week from January as part of its new extended format, which will see it last 75 minutes instead of the previous 45.
Ms Skelton’s new role is likely to be more manageable alongside looking after her children Ernie, eight, Louis, six, and Elsie, who will turn two this month.
She said: ‘It’s really nice to be part of a programme giving so many people a voice.’
