But that doesn’t mean it compromises on quality, with sustainably caught seafood – Brixham hake fillet, Devon lobster, Portland Pearl oysters – at respectable prices. Look out for the tinned British fish (sardines and mackerel in particular), which, for me, is up there with some of the best in the world. There’s a good, well-priced wine list, too.
