PICK OF DIGITAL & ON DEMAND TV A HAUNTING IN VENICE, DISNEY+

AFTER directing and starring in fresh adaptations of two of Agatha Christie’s most famous tales, Kenneth Branagh digs into a lesser-known mystery story in his third outing as Hercule Poirot. Its casting is as starry as the previous two — Tina Fey (pictured with Brannagh), Jamie Dornan, Michelle Yeoh and Kelly Reilly all feature — but this feels as much like a haunted house ghost story as it does a detective case as the extravagantly moustachioed detective tries to solve a murder at a séance. Was a spirit responsible or did an all-toohuman hand commit the crime? Branagh is icily perfect in the lead, and the unfamiliarity of the story (the original novel is Hallowe’en Party) makes things all the more mysterious and creepy. Both of Branagh’s previous outings — Murder On The Orient Express and Death On The Nile — are on Disney+
