OVER pints of Guinness, two elderly gents wistfully recall the WAAFs at Biggin Hill: ‘There were some very nice and pretty girls — I actually married one.’ Telling the story of the Battle of Britain from the point of view of the Kent airfield, this 2010 documentary really soars, chiefly because it is so rich in local detail. The section on children trading falling ordnance is just one example.
