T P SPIN AT THE TEST

■ ENGLAND have scored at 6.73 runs an over in this Test, their fastest ever, beating the previous record set against Bangladesh in 2005. ÷ OF batsmen to have scored 200 or more runs in a Test, Harry Brook’s strike rate of 132 is the highest — pipping Nathan Astle’s 131 for New Zealand against England at Christchurch in March 2002.

■ BROOK is the second England player to score two fifties in a Test at better than a run a ball. The first was Zak Crawley — earlier in the day.

■ CRAWLEY now has two hundreds and two fifties in his four innings against Pakistan, bringing him 492 runs at an average of 123. Against everyone else, it’s 1,043 at 21.

■ PAKISTAN leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood conceded 319 runs in his first Test. Only Australian off-spinner Jason Krejza went for more on debut: 358 against India in 2008. Krejza, though, took 12 wickets and went at 4.78 runs per over to Mahmood’s six wickets at 7.25 an over.
