WEST HAM defender Kurt Zouma missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace after a terrifying break-in at his home on the eve of the Premier League clash.

The Hammers have offered a £25,000 reward for information leading to the successful prosecution of the burglars, who got into the property while Zouma and his young family were still there. Manager David Moyes said at the time that the defender missed the game because of personal reasons and it has now emerged what those reasons were.

Burglars took property of significant value, believed to be around £100,000, including watches and jewellery.

The stolen items are said to have huge personal and sentimental importance and the Frenchman and his family members are understood to be shaken by their ordeal. West Ham chairman David Sullivan said: ‘First and foremost, the thoughts of everyone connected to West Ham United are with Kurt and his family.

‘To have someone break into your home is a terrifying experience and I hope this reward will help bring the individuals to justice and prevent others from going through a similar ordeal.’
