Insane slavery reparations
Steve Forshaw, Kettering
The plan to give $5million to every black person in San Francisco as reparations for slavery fails the Martin Luther King test.
It divides people according to the colour of their skin, rather than judging them on the content of their character.
The proposal is extremely divisive, unaffordable and fundamentally unjust.
Otto Inglis, Crossgates, Fife
If the US want to start a new civil war, then go right ahead with the insane plan to pay huge sums of money in redresses to people who can trace their ancestry back to the days of slavery.
Poor people of all races were treated abominably by the ruling classes until relatively recently, not to mention having to fight and die in terrible wars to protect the people at the top. This is nonsense.
