★★★★ Noel Coward died 50 years ago this month. The brilliant writer, wit, actor, playwright and spy (he worked undercover against the Nazis) often wrote about his past, but there’s a bit of a gap in his memoirs, just before the outbreak of the Second World War. This larky drama, starring Eleanor Bron, with Malcolm Sinclair doing a pitch-perfect Noel Coward impersonation, has Coward (right) going in for a bit of amateur sleuthing, and up to his elegant neck in a murder mystery.
