Born Deaf, Raised Hearing – Our Lives

Actor Jonny Cotsen was born deaf but raised as if he was hearing – he was given analogue hearing aids and taught to lip read and speak, which he found traumatic. He had no sense of his own deaf identity and didn’t learn sign language. Now he wants to understand more about the decisions his mother made, and what she was told by experts. ★★★★☆
